If you forgot your Hotmail password, but have a NEW phone, and do not have access to your associated old phone, then this is when you do:
Go to: https:// account.live.com/resetpassword.aspx in your browser.
You will get these choices:
How would you like to get your security code?
Email *****@gmail.com (Associated email address)
Text *********99 (Associated phone number)
Call *********99 (Associated phone number)
I don’t have any of these.
Click on “I don’t have any of these”. On the next screen, enter an email address that’s different from the one that you’re trying to recover. It does not have to be the associated email address.
Microsoft account team will you a code to your other email address. Enter the code and click on “Verify”.
You will now need to go through an identity check to continue the recovery process.
TIP: Answer the questions from a device and location that you have used before with this account. Answer as many questions as you can, or even try your best guess.
If you pass the security checks, you will be able to recover your account.
